The Pousada Convento Beja is located in the old Convent of São Francisco in the city of Beja, in Alentejo. Located in the city centre just 700 metres from the castle and 200 metres from the Rainha D. Leonor museum. The Pousada is the result of a majestic, architectural project that is representative of Portugal's religious and gothic architecture.
During your stay you can relax in the fantastic gardens, take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and spend your free time playing on the tennis court. For your meals, the Pousada has a restaurant and a bar.
The rooms have been adapted from old cells , with 20 rooms overlooking the garden and the pool. All rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi.

The incredible 17th-century Gothic chapel is ideal for civil ceremonies.

The restaurant, housed in the former refectory of the Franciscan friars and overlooking the cloister, offers an excellent gastronomic experience with traditional Alentejo dishes.
The menu includes regional snacks, typical soups such as dogfish soup and tomato soup with Alentejo bread. Savor dishes such as cod with Alentejo bread crust, rack of lamb and black pork presa. For dessert, try the wonderful convent sweets, such as Beja pão-de-rala and encharcada. If you fancy something different, try the conventual “sopa dourada” ice cream.
