Madeira’s cuisine is particularly full of culinary traditions, stemming from the quality of the products, the ingenuity of the local inhabitants and the influence of travellers who have passed through here.
The municipality of Câmara de Lobos is the island’s main wine-producing area and is the ideal spot for tasting Madeira’s famous wine. This is also where the
best poncha is made, a spirit-based beverage with brandy and lemon juice,
as well as niquita, a regional cocktail with pineapple ice cream and beer. This is also the
fishing port for black swordfish, served in fillets with banana and passion fruit sauce, and it is also famous for serving the best ‘pau de louro’ (skewered grilled beef).
The irresistible buffet breakfast and à la carte lunch and dinner menus can be enjoyed in the restaurant or on the esplanade, located on the first floor of the Pestana Churchill Bay,
overlooking the bay and with a separate entrance from the Hotel.
In the Reception building, there is also a bar that serves drinks and light meals throughout the day.
