The Pousada Viana do Castelo is located atop the Monte de Santa Luzia, in Viana do Castelo. Lofty and elegant, it further enhances the beauty of the city of Viana do Castelo. It has one of the most breathtaking views in Portugal, overlooking the mountain, the city, the Lima River, the Atlantic Ocean and the iconic Santa Luzia Basilica, which, located a few hundred metres up on the slope, frames and fills the landscape and the view.
Panoramic and romantic
Born in 1979 from an excellent restoration and remodelling of the old Santa Luzia Hotel, this Pousada has retained all its stately features that make it unique, such as its high granite walls and wide arcades.
During your stay, you can take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and enjoy the view of the Serra de Santa Luzia, the city of Viana do Castelo, as well as the gorgeous Lima river and its mouth.
If you would like to relax or rejuvenate yourself, schedule at massage at our Magic Spa, by prior appointment.
Feast on minhota cuisine at the Pousada's restaurant and enjoy the sophisticated and welcoming bar, with balconies and terraces for you to admire the view.

The Covert which includes fresh regional bread, butter, olives, fleur de sel and olive oil is served at your table.
To bring some of the Minho Flavours to this well-set table you can try Caldo Verde à Minhota (green vegetable soup), Bacalhau à Santa Luzia (salted cod baked with potatoes and olives) or the famous Torta de Viana (sponge cake with custard filling).
Choose a lovely regional vinho verde, either an aromatic and fruity Loureiro, or the superior and drier Alvarinho.
