Come and try some of the Minho-style specialities of our Pousada while enjoying one of the best views in the world in a venue where the surrounding landscape of green mountains, shimmering river and deep blue sea are all echoed in the walls and fabrics.

On fabulous spring and summer days, all meals can be served on the terrace in front of the restaurant.

Also make the most of the bar, with its delightfully traditional structure and large comfortable lounge. When the weather is fine, the bar becomes even more animated as guests are welcomed onto the terrace and balconies in front of the hotel. Sophisticated and welcoming, its original lamps cast their light over conversations, prolonging the comfort of our sofas.

Above the conversations is the impressive tapestry by Almada Negreiros, commissioned for this space in 1957. It is a unique example of Portalegre tapestry that reproduces the legend of the River Lima.

The cover charge includes fresh regional bread, butter, olives, fleur de sel and olive oil served at your table. To bring some of the Minho Flavours to this well-set table you can try Caldo Verde à Minhota (green vegetable soup), Bacalhau à Santa Luzia (salted cod baked with potatoes and olives) or the famous Torta de Viana (sponge cake with custard filling).

Choose a lovely regional vinho verde, either an aromatic and fruity Loureiro, or the superior and drier Alvarinho.

The restored 1957 chairs and furniture by Alcino Soutinho, one of the great architects of the Porto School, contribute to the well-being and invite you to enjoy meals gazing at a horizon that extends from the green of the surrounding mountains to the deep blue waters of the River Lima and the sea.
