Pestana Churchill Bay
Pousada & Historic Hotel
Passing through Madeira in 1950, the famous
Prime Minister Winston Churchill travelled in a Rolls-Royce to Câmara de Lobos and placed his easel down to paint in the picturesque bay with its typical boats known as ‘xavelhas’.
A reproduction of this painting decorates the rooms of the Pestana Churchill Bay as a tribute to the great politician and artist. With soothing
colours and classic surroundings, the rooms feature a private bathroom with a shower, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, LCD TV, USB sockets, telephone, electronic safe and hairdryer.
Divided into two buildings, the rooms (12 in the reception building and 45 in the former wholesale fish market building)
either overlook the city or the enchanting bay.
These rooms are located on the first floor and have a window overlooking the city. The room has a queen-size bed, LCD TV with satellite channels, telephone, minibar, safe and air conditioning. The bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer. The area of this room is 19,5 m2.
These rooms on the ground floor of the hotel are very inviting and feature a queen-size bed or twin beds and a balcony overlooking the bay. They are all equipped with LCD TV with satellite channels, telephone, minibar, safe and air conditioning. The bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer.
